Each year, College of William and Mary students publish a wide
variety of newspapers, magazines, zines, and related publications
covering news, politics, humor, and literature. The oldest student
news sheet from the College of William and Mary still extant is The
Owl, an
unofficial publication with a strong Southern political slant from
1854. The only known copy is held by the Special Collections Research
Center (SCRC) in Swem Library. Student publications in a variety of
formats are actively collected by the SCRC with electronic versions
available here through William and Mary's DSpace digital repository.
If you create a publication, consider sharing it here to ensure that
future students and researchers have access to these rich sources of
information about students and student life at the College of William
and Mary.
