Dear Sir,
I take leave to introduce to you 
Doctor [?] M. Galt of Portsmouth Virginia. 
The Doctor desires the appointment of Store 
keeper at Old Point Compost. It is a 
matter as to which we have not yet conversed 
and converning which I have no definite opinion. 
But I will say that if it be esteemed desirable 
to make an appointment Doctor Galt is well 
worthy of the place.
