Washington [?] [?] July 19th Dear Sir, I recieved from our political friend Mr. [Noolfolk?] of't a member of our legislature the accompanying letter introducing Mr. Jackson M. [Stamard?] who will hand you this. The zeal which his friends manifest in his behalf is strong evidence of his merit. I can only say that his appearance and deportment are . I was taken very sick at the capitol Friday evening and have been but little there since.
