Washington September 21 1841 My Dear Sir I [?] have to insist your particular attention to the case of Mr C Sharpe who has been dismissed from the Navy. It would afford his numerous friends infinite satisfaction if you would interpose in his behalf & restore him again to a station in the Navy where, I sincerely believe, he would hereafter be found useful & efficient. That he has erred, none can deny, "but to err is human and to forgive divine." May I ask our President to restore him again to a station, which I trust he will hereafter adorn. I have the honor to be Your friend & Obedient Servant George B. Cary The President of the U.S. Hon Mr Cary [?] The restoration of Mr Sharp to the navy. G. B. Cary To the President of the U. States Washington City
