Norfolk Feb. 16. 1852 My Dear Col: I reachd this on Saturday in the hope of leaving this morning, but could not get through my business on that evening and so am detaind until to morrow. I left all well, but Julia has been so much occupied with company that she has not writ ten for two mails past and desires me to relieve all amity felt on that score. Mr. & Mrs. Horsford reachd us on Thursday last in good condition They spoke of leaving on Tuesday, but I hope that I prevailed on them to re main longer. They seemd highly pleasd with their visit and Mary obviously improvd daily. I am dined and tea'd out here almost to a surfeit, but I have not time to give parti culars. The remainder of my letter must relate to business.
