Phila: Supreme Court Confidential March 30/56 My Dear Browell I thought I had acknowledged the receipt of the 60 dollars sent by you to me in payment of your debt, & I think my letter must have [?] [?]. Your enclosure came [?] to [?] & with other monies was [?] over to the State in settlement of my acc't. I do not think any resolution will be passed by the convention at Richmond for Wise but the State Delegates (a [?] of them) to [?] will in all probability be for him. It is possible the Candidate may be taken from Virginia & if so tho' I [?] [?] & he would be satisfactory to me in every sense, still Wise services to my family entitle him to the first place in [?] of my affections: [?] he is like him all in all the greatest man living in America I really think. He has borne my fathers banner without [?] at all times & God [?] that we every man [?] [?] should not sustain [?] as a man [?] of feeling, but it is the [?], present present instead of every [?] & member of my house to do it. Mr. Wise will aid in the election of Mr. Buchannan. He will aid in giving the vote of Virginia to my friend Mr. Buchanan & I [?] he may be nominated. If Va can nominate him it will be done. But it is possible he may not recieve 193 votes or two thirds, it is the whole question is an open one. Virginia will present some one in their trust, why not [Henry?] a wise' My father wrote he the best man of all, because he would run better than any other southern man [?], but he is not of Politics of North [-nd] dislike seeing him brought back again. I 100,000 in oft how from private [farmer?] in the [big-] to coming in a convoy. For him, but he is not quit & comfortably happy at home. If is him this Black Republicans in this Pittsburg Platform take issue [distantly?] with him & his administration & regard everything is an but a Congressman from his Policy. But He [?] a Policy in regard to slavery since only administration & [developed?] [?] (the N. N. man) is also a kind of issue with him (He was [?] from 41 to 45 & a servant of Clays). Thus the opposition make in both branches an issue between John Tyler & their views. Now if He cannot fight this battle it seems to me Wise is the Man for it. in [?] with love to all & a hope to see you soon. You Sincerely R. Tyler Mr. B. Leanulls
