Washington March 4. 1817 Dear Sir The law relating to the claim of Georgia passed last night, as I am informed by some friends of Congress. This will avail your country of your services in the administration, to which I shall with great pleasure nominate you tomorrow. I hope you will have no difficulty in joining us in the procession today. It will give me great satisfaction, if you put no delicacy in it, which, I cannot perceive ought to prevent your doing so
