dc.description.abstract This video recording was digitized from a film featuring a May Fete (or festival) and commencement celebrations. Included are various images of women in flowing gowns and Greek costumes. The film was believed to be at the College of William and Mary, but a sign for Centenary Junior College appears in the background in one of the shots. Librarians from Centenary College identified the film in October 2011 as being entirely shot at Centenary College. One of the students in the film was identified as Centenary alumnus Betty Cooper, a former Miss America. The film was digitized by Safe Sound Archive in March 2011. The original film is accession 2010.149 from the University Archives Audiovisual Collection (UA 58), series 3, item 25: Film of the May Fete and Commencement, May 1939. en_US
