Abstract: Relates details of prize ship, taken from British by a French privateer, sent up the Choptank to port of Oxford; customs officer, Col. Banning datained ship; Capt. John Hooper showed commission to a Capt. Ferey, a French citizen but it did not seem sufficient; tried to act by commercial treaty.
