Abstract: | Concerns information received about the health of Jefferson's daughter, Martha; Jefferson's decision about what route to take to back to Paris; enclosed letter to Mr. John Jay in reference to the reason for Jefferson's trip to Amsterdam and information on letter for the English packet; instructs William Short to inform Jay of anything new in Paris; Jefferson was to be addressed in care of Willincks and Van Straphorsts but he will not be there for much longer; believes that Amsterdam is well fortified; instructs William Short to tell the Marquis de Lafayette about Jefferson's opinion of Amsterdam; give regards to Jefferson's daughters. |
