Choate, purchased glass and crockery ware in Liverpool and, persuaded by mate Guthrie, smuggled it in instead of paying duty; Guthrie, united with Putnam, commander of the cutter, now threatens prosecution, without proof; Putnam in coalition with Mr. Gibbons; suggests as candidates, Alexander Wyley, son of Col. Wyley, or Benjamin Webley.
