Abstract: Difficult circumstances force him to give lessons in Italian; had to renounce his service to the King of Naples during the revolution because he was opposed to Mr. de Circello, former ambassador and now prime minister in Naples; Circello refused to recommend him to the Duchess of Orleans, niece of Ferdinand IV; asks Jefferson for news and any orders he may have.
