Has received Ruellan and Company's previous letter; is not familiar with Mr. Silas Talbot and his sons; received a letter from Silas Talbot about his sons in the French Navy and the money he left for them in care of Monsieur La Forest; sent a letter to Havre to find out if the money had been sent there by La Forest but has not heard anything; explains that this is the reason for his delay in replying to Ruellan and Company's letter; believes that Ruellan and Company can most likely find out something in Havre; he has no authority in this matter and is about to leave for America anyway. |
