Concerns the map of Virginia that Jefferson wants printed for a book; types of paper it should be printed on and how much the labor will cost to print it; seeds sent by Mr. Francis Eppes which may be rotting in Skipwith's magazine; the acts passed by the Virginia Assembly and the last day that it convenes; commercial arrangements with Monsieur Charles Alexandre de Calonne; William Short as a speaker in Jefferson's name to the bureaux of Charles Alexandre de Calonne and Armand Marc Montmorin de Saint-Herem, Comte de Montmorin; the suicide of Charles Francois,Comte de Simiane; the climate of Aix-en-Provence is very sunny, Jefferson loves it; description of the city; the cleanliness of the city because of the poor soil; olive trees; his reasons for traveling without a servant; the servant from Dijon; regards to Chevalier de Pio and Monsieur Philip Mazzei. |
