Abstract: Writes on behalf of Alexandre Berger, merchant of Lyons who wants to go to Richmond and requests the necessary papers; the letter is sent by a brother of "M. le prieur D'Arnas"; asks Jefferson to help Berger; the Marquis d'Espinay de Laye's son has been appointed captain of the calvary; hopes Jefferson will help his son; Madame de Laye sends her regards; regards to Jefferson's family.
