Abstract:

William Short placed in charge of important financial business in Amsterdam; he must go there for the next three months; he will find out more information from the Secretary of the Treasury; the Marquis de Lafayette will take over William Short's affairs in Paris; if Short feels he is needed in Paris he must go there by express and return to Amsterdam as soon as possible; if Short thinks it is necessary he can appoint a secretary in Paris with whom he will communicate and pay 4,000 livres a year; if Short does not think a secretary is necessary he does not have to appoint one. |
