Abstract: In answer to letter of May 26th have sent some more animal bones, all that can be procured; gentleman from New York accompanied him to cave where one of the claw bones about 2 inches long which Mr. Hopkins took with him; must be from small claw on leg above foot; an account of hunters George Wilson and John Davis in 1765 makes him feel animal yet exists; tells story as given him by Davis who now lives in Kentucky.
