dc.description.abstract |
Received very kind message delivered by Dr. Reynolds; came he thought to country of liberty & equality but does not find it such and plans to withdraw rather than remonstrate; not satisfied with French political morality and afraid going there may irritate British government which his wife informs him is about to make over his late property to her and children; at present plans to remove to New Orleans; does not doubt ultimate success of friends of freedom. |
