Abstract: Notes letters to and from Pinckney; mentions fever in Philadelphia; many inhabitants left city; President will arrive in about a week when Congress will meet; negotiations with northwestern Indians failed; mentions misunderstanding with Genet which will be made public at next meeting of Congress; wishes to hear from him on subject of Lafayette; copper by the Pigon and Mohawk received; our coinage of silver delayed by Mr. Coxe's inability to give required security. [Copy probably made for Henry Washington].
