Abstract:
|
Acknowledges Tucker's letter of 2d inst. concerning Mr. Martin's libels on subject of Logan; read Logan's speech interpreted by Indian interpreter and used Col. Gibson's version; early records of Assembly show that lands were purchased from Indians and in general colony lived in peace with them; struggling to prevent war now; if it can be avoided until crisis with England is over, it may be escaped. |
