Florence Barber Diary (1902) identification and Transcription, 2011-2012

Abstract: Transcript and identification of the Florence Barber Diary (Portsmouth, Va.), SC 00834. Florence Barber, an African American woman living in Portsmouth, Virginia at the turn of the 20th century. The identification was written in 2011 by Lauren Wallace, a graduate student in the Department of History. The transcript was created by Grace Hindman, class of 2011, as part of the Lemon Project under professor Jody Allen.
