Abstract: Thanks him for handling the matter concerning Mr. Cooper; claims that he can request no favors from Polk nor Walker; feels that Judge Nelson is "bound in honor" to ensure that Gardiner prospers in business; believes that [Polk and Walker?] will cheat him if they can; predicts that Calhoun is their man now; asks him to send the article about the President.
