dc.description.note Bound in a used envelope with sealing wax still adhering and interleaved with blank pages containing manuscript notes by St. George Tucker. A scale of depreciation for the years 1777-1781 is inscribed on the cover. Many of the notes are receipts of payment for loans, for example: "Rec'd of St. George Tucker twenty one shillings for ten Bushels & a half of oats sold him a few Days past for which he gave his note payable on Demand, which I have lost by Accident. Oct. 17 . 1873; witness St. George Tucker junr., David Berry his Mark [X]." en_US
