Abstract: All of my husband's relatives treat me with great affection - we entertain a great deal of the company - New York servants are a motley crew composed of wild Irish some French who have fled Napoleon's conscription; a few cut-throat English; a portion of Americans who disdain subordination; a small number of Germans.
