The University Archives Oral History Collection consists of transcripts and recordings of oral history interviews conducted as a part of various projects at William & Mary. Interviews with university administrators, faculty, and alumni are represented in this collection. The specific projects include the university's oral history program from the 1970s, an oral history program sponsored by the University Archives beginning in the 2000s, and the project "Stony the Road We Trod." The finding aid for the collection is available online scrcguides.libraries.wm.edu. At present, only interviews from the "Stony the Road We Trod" project are available online. All other interviews are available in the Special Collections Research Center.
"Stony the Road We Trod" was an independent study project conducted by William & Mary student Jenay Jackson, class of 2005. This oral history project was intended to serve as the initial part of an ongoing project to document the history of African Americans at William & Mary.
