Thelma Brown Heffelfinger Oral History
| Abstract: | This interview was conducted as part of the College of William and Mary Oral History Project. Mrs. Heffelfinger came to Williamsburg in 1911 when her father, Dr. G.W. Brown, became director of Eastern State Hospital. She attended Randolph-Macon College since William and Mary was not coed at that time. In the early 1920s she taught physical education at the College and later briefly served as President J.A.C. Chandler's secretary. She was very much a part of the town's social life, which she tells about in this interview. |
