William L. Person Oral History

Abstract: This interview was conducted as part of the College of William and Mary Oral History Project. Billy Person grew up in Williamsburg, the son of Charles Person, who operated a local jewelry store and later opened the first garage. Mr. Person's description of life in Williamsburg in the pre- World War I era is of a very different town than the current one. Mr. Person attended William and Mary from 1921 to 1924 and in this interview he tells of the relationship between the Colonial Williamsburg restoration and local businesses.
